Location: Franklin Street, Worcester, MA
This project consisted of site grading and utility installation and relocation for the expansion of the CSX Rail yard located in downtown Worcester, MA. Marois Brothers, Inc. was responsible for the grading of the expanded rail area for the installation of tracks by others. Our contract included installation of all site utilities with the largest amount dedicated to the drainage system in the area. The drainage enhancements for the project site, with particular concentration on improvements to the Franklin Street section of the project, also included all drainage installation within the project site area as well.
Another large component of the project was the sewer and water work which involved the installation of 4,700 lf of sewer lines ranging in size from 6” PVC to 36” RCP. The water work involved installing 9,800 lf of pipe varying in size from 2” copper, 3,500 lf of the total, to 16” ductile iron pipe.
We completed this project in September 2012 with a contract value that exceeded $8 million dollars.
