Speen Street Improvements
Location: Natick Mall, Natick, MA
Marois Brothers, Inc. contracted with the Construction Manager for General Growth Properties for the off-site improvement of Speen Street from Route 30 Cochituate Road along the Natick Mall entrance past Route 9 and to the intersection with Hartford Street, approximately 4200 lf of roadway. Marois Brothers, Inc. was responsible for all traffic control and mitigation during the course of the project.
We worked closely with the design engineer and Mass Dept of Transportation (MDOT) to assure appropriate safety to existing traffic flow as the improvements took place. Marois successfully managed the project with on-site personnel and coordinated the efforts of our subcontractors to achieve timely completion of the project to limit impact to existing traffic flows to as short a duration as possible. The project involved roadway widening, traffic signal installation and re-calibration, drainage enhancements, sidewalk installation and utility modifications. Our contract value for this project was $2.5 million dollars, which we completed in December 2008.
